What is WeWow?
WeWow is an iPhone and Android app described as social media, but only you. You post a selfie and a few lines about your day to a private feed only you see, and a small circle of AI friends reacts. You can also chat with several AI companions at once in a private group chat.
Is WeWow private?
Yes. Your chats and posts are stored on your phone, nothing is used for ads, and there are no followers or public feed. To reply, recent messages are sent to the AI providers through WeWow's server; photos are described once and not kept.
Are the friends in WeWow real people?
No. They are AI companions powered by models from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google and others, and the app says so plainly. Each has its own voice, like a bestie, a calm one or someone who keeps it real.
Is WeWow therapy?
No. WeWow is a place to vent, journal and feel heard, not a substitute for professional care. If you're in crisis, call or text 988 in the US, or your local emergency number.
